Astra Opus
AI Transparency
How AI tools fit into creative work on Astra Opus — lab-wide defaults and where to find project specifics.
Astra Opus is a personal creative lab at the intersection of creativity and assistive tools. This site is partly an experiment in making that collaboration visible — not hiding it behind a polished finish or pretending the work appeared fully formed.
The rule
Transparency, not performance. The goal is not to prove how much or how little AI was involved. It is to be honest about where assistive tools fit into the work and where human judgment, taste, and vision remain non-negotiable.
Where AI typically helps
Across projects on this site, AI tools most often assist with:
- Brainstorming and exploring possibilities
- Drafting and iterating on documentation
- Structuring and organizing complex material
- Working through design problems and alternatives
- Research synthesis and reference gathering
Where humans hold the line
Regardless of project, these stay human-owned:
- Final creative decisions — what stays, what goes, what the work is
- Core vision, tone, and design pillars
- Validation — playtesting, reading, editing, and real-world use
- World integrity — lore consistency and authorial intent for fiction work
- Published words — every page is reviewed and often rewritten by a human author
AI serves as a thought partner and productivity tool, not as the creative director.
How transparency shows up on this site
- This page — lab-wide defaults and philosophy
- Project addenda — specifics when a project works differently from the defaults above
- Process artifacts — decision logs, revision histories, and project truths document why things changed, not just what shipped
By project
Some projects have additional detail:
- Today’s Specials — game design, rules documentation, and playtesting boundaries
Thrapsus currently follows the lab defaults above. A project-specific addendum will appear here if that workflow diverges.
