Elves

The elven peoples of Thrapsus are centered in the Realm of Caelthryn, a coastal and forest realm composed of three distinct cultural groups with shared governance and careful diplomatic strategy.

The elven peoples of Thrapsus are principally concentrated in the Realm of Caelthryn, a realm stretching from steep coastal cliffs through dense ancient forests to cold mountain ridges. Caelthryn is not a monolithic culture; three distinct populations — City Elves, Wood Elves, and Sea Elves — occupy different ecological niches and carry different functional roles within the realm’s shared governance structure. No single group holds absolute authority; administration falls to the City Elves by practical necessity, as they possess the patience the work requires.

What unites them is less a shared culture than a shared orientation: a preference for durable alliances over direct confrontation, a long institutional memory, and consistent wariness toward both dwarven resource extraction and orcish encroachment. Relations with dwarves across the continent are characterized by historical antagonism over land use. Relations with orcs are treated as an ongoing threat requiring active management rather than resolution.

Caelthryn maintains external alliances with the Centaurs of Thryssamar, the Fey-kind of Thistrelle, and the Hobbits of Brindleward, as well as carefully managed relations with select human factions. Whether significant elven populations exist elsewhere on the continent remains a matter of scholarly uncertainty — relevant records from the original Great Library were not recovered.
