Flip three cards. Your class, your personality, and your calling. One from each draw. Grab an index card. That’s your character card. Write them down on the front. Flip it over and draw yourself on the back.
Your Class
Flip a card. Your suit is your class.
| Suit | Class | |
|---|---|---|
| ♥ Hearts | Baker | You see order in the process. Timing, texture, proof. What has to happen first? |
| ♦ Diamonds | Butcher | You see the useful cut. Joint, trim, salvage. What's worth keeping on the board? |
| ♣ Clubs | Barbaquere | You see heat rewriting the surface. Smoke, char, patience. What wants the flame? |
| ♠ Spades | Brewer | You see liquids turning. Steep, ferment, blend. What needs time to finish? |
Your class is a narrative lens, not a mechanical modifier. A Baker and a Barbaquere flip the same cards and draw the same dish. Class tells you how your character sees the world, not what bonuses they get.
Your Personality
Flip a card. Your rank is your personality.
| Rank | Personality | |
|---|---|---|
| A | Apologizes constantly | Sorry. Also sorry for that. Sorry in advance. |
| 2 | Has opinions about everything | The salt is wrong. The plate is wrong. You're holding the spoon wrong. |
| 3 | Names their utensils | The big knife is Gerald. Do not touch Gerald. |
| 4 | Has a spirit companion | Only they can see it. It has strong feelings about the soup. |
| 5 | Talks to the food | Encouragement, mostly. Sometimes a warning. |
| 6 | Has an idea, but then loses it | It was brilliant. It was right there. What was it again? |
| 7 | Has a nemesis | Nobody else knows about the feud. That's fine. They know. |
| 8 | Narrates out loud | "And now I add the salt. This is the part where I add the salt." |
| 9 | Cries when complimented | A single compliment can take them out for ten minutes. |
| 10 | Afraid of something small | Very specific. They don't want to talk about it. |
| J | Collects something weird | It started as one. Now there are forty-seven. |
| Q | Overdressed, always | For the dungeon. For the market. For Tuesday. |
| K | Claims to have invented everything | Soup? Their idea. Fire? Also them. You're welcome. |
Your Calling
Flip a card. Your rank is your calling. Why you cook.
| Rank | Calling | |
|---|---|---|
| A | A Trophy | You cook to prove something. You haven't decided what yet. |
| 2 | A Legend | Somewhere out there is a dish so good it changed history. You plan to top it. |
| 3 | A Memory | There was a dish, once. You can almost taste it. Almost. |
| 4 | An Accident | One experiment went sideways and suddenly this was your whole life. |
| 5 | An Obsession | One flavor. One dish. You've made it two hundred times. Getting closer. |
| 6 | A Gift | Someone believed in you before you did. Rude of them. You're still grateful. |
| 7 | A Stereotype | Everyone expects the obvious thing. You haven't decided if you'll give it to them. |
| 8 | A Rivalry | There's someone out there who thinks they're better than you. They might be right. For now. |
| 9 | A Promise | You made a promise. Out loud. In front of people. No going back. |
| 10 | A Dream | You have a very specific vision. It makes complete sense in your head. |
| J | A Secret | You have a real reason. A good one. You're taking it to your grave. |
| Q | A Hunger | You don't know what you're looking for. But every meal is a clue. |
| K | A Name | You want people to say your name when they eat this. Is that so much to ask? |
